The Regional Museum in Cedynia was established in 1966. It is located on the ground floor of a 19th century townhouse in the town center. The museum collection includes archeological, ethnographic, army historical and paleontological artifacts. The museum prides on the archeological artifacts collection, which features a number of objects found during the 1958/59 and 1961excavations of the stronghold in Cedynia, done by the National Museum in Szczecin, and also from the 1967/85 excavations of the cemetery and the borough. In 1968/90 the collection was enlarged thanks to the gifts of the town's citizens. The effects of the cooperation between the archeologists and the local people may be seen in the permanent exhibition titled "From the history of Cedynia and its surroundings".
Among the paleontological exhibits the most noteworthy are the shoulder and a tusk of a mammoth, and the horns of an Irish elk. There are many everyday life objects from the Stone, Bronze and Iron Ages. The artifacts from the Middle Ages include tools, pottery, grave equipment elements like dice, strikers and knives. The collection also includes early medieval weaponry. There are also exhibits from the II World War and the battle of Cedynia in 1945.
